Mental health isn't always all in the mind
“Mental health symptoms rarely have a single cause. Mood, focus, behaviour and emotional regulation are all shaped by the complex interplay between your gut, hormones, family history, stress response and brain chemistry.
At Peach, we take a ground-up rather than a top-down approach. We treat the brain via the body - because mood, focus, behaviour and emotional resilience are shaped, in large part, by what's happening beneath the surface. Understanding that is often the first step to lasting change.”
- Venetia Mitchell, Peach Practitioner & Walsh Specialist

Supporting the brain via the body
We look beneath the surface with targeted functional testing. Your practitioner can recommend tests that provide valuable insights, depending on your personal symptoms and history.
Functional testing gives us a precise picture of the biochemical factors driving your symptoms, so we can build a personalised plan to improve your mental health that's based on your individual biology.
We work directly with partner labs, so we’re able to offer many tests at preferential rates for Peach clients.
○ Zinc and copper balance
○ Methylation
○ Pyrrole levels
○ Stress hormone analysis
Walsh Nutrient Therapy
Developed by the Walsh Research Institute over 30 years of biochemical research, Walsh Nutrient Therapy works by identifying the specific nutrient imbalances that disrupt production of neurotransmitters in the brain (such as serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine) - and correcting them with targeted plans built around your individual biochemistry.
Mental health is a whole-body conversation
Many people see different specialists for different symptoms - mood, digestion, hormones - without anyone connecting the dots. This can make it hard to understand why you feel the way you do, or slow down progress towards feeling better.
We approach mental health through the body. The gut, brain, hormones and stress response are deeply connected - for example, more than 50% of people with IBS also experience anxiety or depression, so imbalances rarely sit in just one place.
By understanding your unique biochemistry through targeted testing, we create a truly personalised plan to support your mental health and get you feeling better.

Your top questions, answered
-
Yes - while nutrition is not a replacement for psychological or psychiatric care, a functional approach to mental health can make a significant difference. At Peach, our mental health nutritionists look at the biochemical factors that influence brain chemistry, including nutrient imbalances, gut health and hormone balance. Many clients find that addressing these underlying factors leads to meaningful improvements in mood, anxiety and energy.

Walsh Nutrient Therapy is a clinically developed approach based on more than 30 years of biochemical research by the Walsh Research Institute. It works by identifying specific nutrient imbalances that disrupt the brain's ability to produce key neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine - and correcting them with targeted protocols tailored to your individual biochemistry. It has been applied to a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD and autism spectrum conditions. At Peach, we have Walsh-certified practitioners on our team, who use this approach to design protocols built entirely around your individual biochemistry.

Emerging research suggests that biochemical imbalances - including disruptions to neurotransmitter production, methylation and specific nutrient deficiencies - can play a meaningful role in neurodevelopmental conditions. Our practitioners are certified in Walsh Nutrient Therapy, which has been specifically researched and applied in the context of ADHD, autism and behavioural disorders.

The gut-brain axis refers to the two-way communication between the digestive system and the brain. The gut produces a significant proportion of the body's serotonin, and research shows that more than 50% of people with IBS also experience anxiety or depression. At Peach, gut-brain axis support is a core feature of our mental health protocols - because for many clients, improving gut health is where lasting improvements in mood and mental wellbeing begin.
